Itinerary

First Day

Time to put your feet up for a fair amount of driving with our Greyhound link from Broome to Coral Bay! Today you will get a good impression of what the outback in Western Australia is all about. Vast clear skies, theatrical landscapes and miles of rich red earth and rugged rock formations. A beautiful contrast with the white sandy beaches and clear blue ocean that you will find in The Jewel of the West, Coral Bay! Overnight: Ningaloo Club Coral Bay.

Second Day

Meet up with your Easyrider guide this morning, as you begin exploring the Ningaloo Reef, one of the worlds largest fringing reef systems. Today is a day of ‘hard’ decisions! Choose to do either the amazing Kayak/Snorkel Tour after which you receive a free photo cd of your adventure OR you can go on the scenic Glass Bottom Boat/Snorkel Tour what a brilliant way to start your day! Make the most of the free snorkel gear for the duration of your stay in Coral Bay (deposit required). For those wishing to JOJO in Exmouth you will be back on the bus at around 10am for a short drive north. Otherwise you can fill in the rest of your day by going for a nice walk, fish feeding, chartered boats, diving, quad bike tours or just drinks by the pool. It’s all on your doorstep in Coral Bay and this is your day to breath it all in! Don’t miss out on the stunning sunset before you kick back for happy hour at the Manta Bar in the Ningaloo Club. Overnight: Ningaloo Club Coral Bay

Third Day

A fair amount of driving to get under our belt today so we head out of Coral Bay early, stopping along the way for morning tea. We travel through cattle country to our lunch stop in the ‘real outback’ where there’s time to throw a frisbee or go for a short stroll. Next is the mining town of Paraburdoo and the highest town above sea level in Western Australia- Tom Price, where we do our supermarket stop. Then it’s time for WA’s finest outback country, the breathtaking Karijini National Park. Here you find yourself in a true remote area isolated from the rest of the world surrounded by rugged beauty, cascading waterfalls and the oldest rock formations in the world. We check into Karijini Eco Retreat and find our safari tents at the Easyrider campsite. Overnight: Karijini NP.

Fourth Day

Waking up in a safari tent while the sun is rising is a truly amazing way to start your day. And it gets even better! Today we travel to the other side of Karijini National Park where we take a look out over Circular Pool from the top of Dales Gorge, before hiking down for a morning swim. We then walk to the famous Fortescue Falls followed by a refreshing swim at a sacred Aboriginal site, Fern Pool. Back on the bus we head to the Karijini Visitors Centre if time permits, before making our way to Weano Gorge for a descent into the gorge to find a picturesque place for lunch. The adrenalin continues as we climb in between narrow steep walls to Handrail Pool. Here we go for a well earned swim and further exploring, eventually we hike back up to the rim before the following adventure… Next we make our way down into the spectacular Hancock Gorge to visit the amazing scenery of the amphitheatre and do the spider-walk to get to Kermit’s Pool. There may be a chance to visit Joffre Falls (drivers discretion) before we settle into Karijini Eco Retreat to put our feet up and relax in our camp. Overnight: Karijini NP.

Fifth Day

With a good day of driving ahead we have all the time to relax after our full day hiking yesterday. We leave Karijini early and find our way to the mining town of Paraburdoo for our rest stop. Back on the bus we head west and stop for lunch at House Creek or the Ashburton River. Then it’s on to Nanutarra Roadhouse for a short stop before we drive through cattle country back to Coral Bay to wash off the dust from the outback. Overnight: Coral Bay.

Sixth Day

This is your day off in Coral Bay! Ask at the Ningaloo Club what your options are when it comes the many magnificent tours. Are the Whale Sharks in season? It could be a once in a lifetime experience to swim with these gentle giants of the sea… Or maybe a snorkel with the amazing Manta rays! Find a spot on interesting Nature Tour and learn about the famous Ningaloo Reef. It’s all on your doorstep in Coral Bay. And don’t forget to tell them you’re travelling with Easyrider Tours, you’ll receive an attractive discount! Enjoy your stay in Coral Bay. Overnight: Coral Bay.

Seventh Day

We leave Coral Bay behind us for our drive down the coastline through the many fruit plantations in and around the town of Carnarvon. We stop at a roadhouse for morning tea and to stretch our legs before driving into the famous World Heritage Listed Shark Bay! Here we visit the geological mystery of the Hamelin Pool Stromatolites and relax on a layer of 4 metres of shells at Shell Beach before heading into Denham for our overnight stay. Overnight: Denham.

Eighth Day

This morning we visit the famous Ocean Park for a tour by marine experts. This is your opportunity to see, experience and learn about the incredible diversity of local marine life. Catch a glimpse of the awesome power of the sharks whilst getting fed in a massive oceanarium! After this we take the journey off-road, enjoy a 4WD/Snorkelling Safari tour throughout the Francois Peron National Park. Shark Bay’s most spectacular places are only accessible by 4WD and this is your time to explore it all (lunch included). We travel back to Denham late in the afternoon visiting the Peron Homestead- and natural springs hot tub on the way. Time to chill out in Denham for the night or hang out with the locals at the Shark Bay Hotel- the most westerly pub on mainland Australia! Overnight: Bay Lodge Denham.

Ninth Day

We drive across the Francois Peron peninsula to see the famous Monkey Mia dolphins today! After mingling with these magical creatures if you’re lucky you might get chosen to feed them or you can join the pelican feeding! Learn about the cultural significance of the area on the Wula Guda Nyinda Aboriginal Eco Tours or take an optional wildlife sailing cruise on the Aristocat Catamaran and get blasted in the boom net (both optional at additional cost)! Before we leave Shark Bay we stop at the Eagle Bluff Boardwalk and search the ocean for rays, dugongs, turtles and sharks. Then it’s on to Overlander Roadhouse before we drive into the picturesque town of Kalbarri before the sun sets on the west coast. Overnight: Kalbarri.

Tenth Day

An early start this morning for our adventurous Canoe Safari! Picture yourself paddling the winding Murchison River, breathing in the stunning scenery. You might see goanna or a wild goat hiding in the bush or keep your eye out for kangaroos! After a delicious brunch we arrive back in town where you have the afternoon to see everything Kalbarri has to offer. We make the most of the afternoon by checking out the beautiful gorges of Kalbarri National Park and marvel at Natures Window, The Loop and Z-Bend Gorge. Here we descend 150 meters down into the heart of the gorge and take a refreshing dip in the river. Overnight: Kalbarri Backpackers.

Eleventh Day

An early start this morning to check out the stunning coastal gorges Natures Bridge & Island Rock! We then make our way closer to Perth along the coastal road through small fishing towns like Jurien and Greenhead. We stop for lunch and a swim at Dynamite Bay before we drive into Nambung National Park and take a stroll through the eerie sight of the Pinnacles Desert. It’s now time to say goodbye as we make our way into Perth for your drop off at the Tourist Coach Stand in the city centre. We hope to see you on Easyrider’s ‘Southern Curl or Southern Circle’ trip once you’ve checked out our wonderful capital city – Perth!!
