Itinerary

First Day – start your tour!

We head north of Perth through its picturesque surrounds towards the windsurfing mecca of Lancelin (only if required for JOJO), from here we then move onto one of Western Australia’s unique natural attractions, the Pinnacles! This is a chance to have some real quality time to wander around and explore this enchanting desert in the Nambung National Park located just next to Cervantes. We find a nice beachside spot for lunch then it’s back on the bus driving along breathtaking coastal roads before we pass through the cray fishing town of Dongara and the capital of WA’s mid west, Geraldton, on our way up to Kalbarri.
Overnight: Kalbarri Backpackers.

Second Day

An early start this morning for our adventurous Canoe Safari! Picture yourself paddling the winding Murchison River, breathing in the stunning scenery. You might see goanna or a wild goat hiding in the bush or keep your eye out for kangaroos! After a delicious brunch we arrive back in town where you have the afternoon to see everything Kalbarri has to offer. If you still have the energy you can have free use of the paddle boats or explore the white sandy beaches to the famous wildflower centre, parrot and sea horse sanctuary. Or hire a mountain bike and explore the amazing coastal cliffs and jump on a super fast jet boat for a real adrenaline rush!
Overnight: Kalbarri Backpackers.

Third Day

We depart early to check out the beautiful gorges of Kalbarri National Park and marvel at Natures Window, The Loop and Z-Bend Gorge. Here we descend 150 meters down into the heart of the gorge and take a refreshing dip in the river. There’s a spectacular option to abseil down a sheer wall for the true diehards (at additional cost). As we move further north we will find a spot for lunch and then drive along one of the straightest roads in WA towards the famous World Heritage Listed Shark Bay! Here we visit the geological mystery of the Stromatolites at Hamelin Pool and relax on a layer of 4 metres of shells at Shell Beach before heading into Denham.
Overnight: Bay Lodge Denham.

Fourth Day

This morning we visit the famous Ocean Park for a tour by marine experts. This is your opportunity to see, experience and learn about the incredible diversity of local marine life. Catch a glimpse of the awesome power of the sharks whilst getting fed in a massive oceanarium! After this we take the journey off-road, enjoy a 4WD/Snorkelling Safari tour throughout the Francois Peron National Park. Shark Bay’s most spectacular places are only accessible by 4WD and this is your time to explore it all (lunch included). We travel back to Denham late in the afternoon visiting the Peron Homestead- and natural springs hot tub on the way. Time to chill out in Denham for the night or hang out with the locals at the Shark Bay Hotel- the most westerly pub on mainland Australia!
Overnight: Bay Lodge Denham.

Fifth Day

We drive across the Francois Peron Peninsula to see the famous Monkey Mia dolphins today! After mingling with these magical creatures if you’re lucky you might get chosen to feed them you can also join the pelican feeding! Learn about the cultural significance of the area on the Wula Guda Nyinda Aboriginal Eco Tours or take an optional wildlife sailing cruise on the Aristocat Catamaran and get blasted in the boom net (both optional at additional cost)! Before we leave Shark Bay we stop at the Eagle Bluff Boardwalk and search the ocean for rays, dugongs, turtles and sharks. Then heading up to Carnarvon we find time for a supermarket stop before arriving in the jewel of the West Coast, Coral Bay.
Overnight: Ningaloo Club Coral Bay.

Sixth Day

We start early this morning, exploring the Ningaloo Reef, one of the worlds largest fringing reef systems. Today you have a choice of either a Kayak/Snorkel Tour after which you receive a free photo cd of your adventure OR you can go on the Glass Bottom Boat/Snorkel Tour what a brilliant way to start your day! Make the most of the free snorkel gear for the duration of your stay in Coral Bay ($100 deposit required). You can fill in the rest of your day by going for a walk on isolated beaches or to the shark nursery!, fish feeding, chartered boats, diving, quad bike tours or just drinks by the pool.
